Seminar Faculty

Steven P. Douty, L.S., is a licensed land surveyor in the States of Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. He is presently owner of Green Forest Surveys in Buena Vista, Virginia.   He holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering and has been in the surveying business since 1968.  Mr. Douty is a member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).  He is a member and past state president of the Virginia Association of Surveyors, is a founder and charter member of the Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems, and is presently serving as Virginia’s governor to the NSPS. 

Mr. Douty is a frequent lecturer on land surveying topics providing continuing education lectures and seminars for the professional surveying societies of North Carolina, Maryland and Virginia and the Virginia Bar.

 

Chris J. Pappas, L.S., is a licensed land surveyor in the States of Virginia, and New Mexico. He is presently owner of Green Forest Surveys in Blacksburg, Virginia.   He holds a B.S. degree in Surveying from NMSU and has been in the surveying business since 1992.  Mr. Pappas is a member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and of the Virginia Association of Surveyors. 

Green Forest Surveys provides the full range of surveying services to its Virginia customers from both its Buena Vista and Blacksburg office. The company specializes in high precision deformation and network surveys, large boundary surveys (from fifty acres to fifty thousand acres), and providing expert witness services on land surveying and boundary issues.
